David Rinaldi, a 6’0 point guard and club junior, has re-signed for the 2023 NBL1 Season.
Coming off his rookie season in NBL1, he look to have an expanded role in 2023 after learning the league and developing.
Dave is a player who has worked hard in his skill development and is often seen shooting at the arc to improve his game.
This will be showcased in the upcoming U20 Nationals next month in Geelong, as Rinaldi represents South Australia in what will be a challenging competition.
Having been in and around High-Performance Programs as a junior, Rinaldi is a high IQ and adept playmaker, with amazing passing abilities in transition and the half court.
NBL1 GM Will Smith was delighted to have Rinaldi onboard,
“Dave is a great character guy to have in our squad. He is a quiet achiever and works hard to earn his opportunities. I’ve been impressed with his smart play and vision on the court. Not only can he see tight passing angles, but he has the rare ability to execute those as well at a high conversion rate.”
Impressed by his relentless work ethic, Head Coach Tim Odell was also thrilled to have the young point guard re-sign,
“Dave embodies the club’s culture as a hard-working, tough, competitive point guard. His confidence is growing daily and I’m keen to see him take on a larger role in the team this year.”
Rinaldi expressed how he is looking forward to furthering his development with the Flames in 2023,
“I’m excited to continue learning from the vets and to gain some valuable experience myself. I believe we have solid pieces to make a name for ourselves this year.”
