Caitlin Shillabeer, an exciting 5’9 guard/wing, has signed on for the 2023 season with the Norwood Flames.
Shillabeer started her career in Under 10’s at Norwood many years ago.
She also has just been selected for the Under 20 State team and will represent South Australia at the National Championships next month in Geelong, Victoria. This will be a great development opportunity for Shillabeer to ply her trade against the best in the country at her age.
Having already signed to go to Lakeland College, under Coach Chris King, in Canada- she will be looking to have a strong NBL1 campaign before she goes abroad.
NBL1 GM Will Smith believes Shillabeer has all the skills needed to succeed in the league,
“Caitlin has all the modern attributes we look for in a modern basketballer; she’s quick, long, athletic, and plays both ends of the court. Her ability to defend and pressure the ball full court is great and she backs that up with being able to score the ball at the offensive end, both in transition or the half court.”
Aiming to expand her diverse abilities on the court, Shillabeer is eagerly awaiting the 2023 season,
“I am thrilled to have signed with Norwood Flames and look forward to the season ahead where I can take the next step in my development.”
