We’re thrilled to announce the re-signing of Andrew Webber for the 2022 NBL1 Season!
Having made his debut in 2003 at 17 years of age, Andrew has played 443+ senior games for Norwood, including 344 NBL1 games including 3 NBL1 championships.
His playing goes back beyond when digital stats where being recorded!
A point guard and a leader, Andrew brings the grit, determination and competitiveness that drives the group towards the ultimate goal.
Having suffered a setback in 2021 with season ending ACL surgery, ‘Drew has dug deep to complete a gruelling rehabilitation process.
With a plethora of young talent injected into the squad, he‘s been reinvigorated and has already begun pushing the young squad members and giving them veteran advice about the game.
Pairing back up with his brother, Daniel, and close-friend Matt Lycett, has also made the return worth it to play again with his partners in crime. The “OG” contingent will be pushing the group and leading them to get back into finals this season.
Coach Tim Odell sees what Andrew brings to the program:
“The experience and knowledge of the game that Andrew brings is huge for us. He’s already provided value helping guide our younger players, we’re looking forward to extending that value to his return to the floor.”
Andrew is also thrilled to be back playing:
“It’s been an extremely challenging 12 months but I’m very excited to be back in the red and blue for season #20! I really like our squad this year and love the direction that Tim has us going in, and think we can go one better in 2022.”
Norwood opens their campaign as they host South Adelaide in Round 1, April 9th at The ARC. The Women tip-off at 6pm, with the Men at 7:45pm.
