The Norwood Flames Men’s NBL1 Team are thrilled to announce the re-signing of Ray Harding for the 2022 & 2023 seasons!
Ray Harding, a 6’6 wing has re-signed for 2 years with the Norwood Flames.
Harding, at only 22 years old, forms part of a strong, young nucleus for the team to build upon into the future.
Ray is known for his energy, hustle and passion on the court.
In 2021, Ray averaged 10.7ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.8apg and his defensive output in the regular season was 1.05 blocks per game and 1.55 steals. All this was off 47% shooting from the field and increasing his 3 point shooting.
Coach Tim Odell said: “Ray was a key piece in last year’s run and we are looking forward to him taking a larger role through his versatile, all-around game in 2022”.
Ray was even more succinct in his comments: “I’m ready to run it back and go all the way this year!”
With Harding now locked in, more signings will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Ray has also been a great contributor off the court, coaching Norwood Junior Teams also and will continue this in 2022.
His energy and enthusiasm for the game are contagious and it’s something Norwood loves seeing around the Arc and Club. Becoming a fan-favourite, Ray’s hustle on the defensive end is a key piece for building the roster for 2022 and beyond.
With Harding’s signing, the group is taking form, with a large influx of talented players who have graduated U18’s coming into the senior programs also. Whether they make the NBL1 squad or U21’s remains to be seen, but there are some great prospects coming through.
