Ella Turnbull, a 17 year old point guard, has signed onto Norwood’s NBL1 squad roster for season 2022.
Turnbull just graduated Norwood’s Junior program, finishing U18’s in 2021 and now is making the full-time leap into the senior program.
Known for her tough on-ball defence and ability to push the ball and make great passes, Ella will look to continue her development in the NBL1 program.
Having just been selected in an Under 20 South Australian State Team, Ella has developed particularly well over the past 12 months. She has grown more confident each month as her game has continued to evolve.
In U18’s for Norwood (2021), she averaged 6ppg, 4apg and 2.3 spg, showing her versatility in what she contributes to the team.
Coach Terry McNamara said:
“Ella is another player to come through the flames junior system. She is a state representative with a strong work ethic and desire to improve.
Ella possesses great basketball IQ and decision making which brings her teammates into the game.”
Having got a small taste of NBL1 last year, Ella will look to get more involved in the NBL1 squad and reserves games.
Ella said:
“I’m really excited for the upcoming season. I love being around the group, I’ll continue learning and pushing myself.”
