Jem Whitton, a 2nd year Under 18’s player for Norwood, has signed on for NBL1 2022.
Whitton is a strong, physical forward who plays with maturity, poise and IQ beyond her years.
Adept at guarding bigger players in the post, she has also improved her offensive game to shoot perimeter shots or attacking the hoop.
A natural leader, she communicates well on and off court. In 2021, she was called up to play 6 NBL1 games, with a high of 10 points against Centrals.
Coach Terry McNamara said:
“Jem is a talented and hard working member of the squad whose maturity is beyond her years. She is strong at the basket , has great court knowledge and is a natural leader. I’m excited to play a part in her development and what she will add to our team.”
Whitton added:
“I’m just so thankful for how the girls in the team and all the coaching staff have made the transition from juniors to seniors so smooth for me. I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and to continue learning and developing.”
