NBL1 Round 13 @ Forestville Eagles
This is the back end of a back-to-back for the Norwood Flames as they go against the Forestville Eagles in Round 13 of NBL1 Central action.
For the Paradise Hotel Norwood Flames Women, they are pushing for Finals seeding after a strong mid-season they are primed for a good final stretch. Led by import Ally Becki and Cali Clark the women are a well-rounded powerhouse who can take over the game inside-and-out on both ends of the court. Cali Clark leads the way inside as she dominates on the boards and in the post whilst Ally leads the perimeter play for the Flames.
Meanwhile, the Forestville Eagles fell short the last time these teams faced off, losing by 1 on ANZAC Day despite a combined 45-points for Jessica Simons and Samantha Simons. Forestville needs this to be a big win for them as they are battling it out with Norwood for those last Finals spots. Led by dynamic scorers in the Samantha and Jessica Simons the Eagles are an offensive threat night in and night out. The Flames will need to slow them down for a chance to win again tonight.
The South Ave Norwood Flames Men were unable to get it done in Round 6 when these teams last faced off, with Daniel Johnson and Greg Mays dominating inside. A much better team is coming into the game this afternoon though as the Men have grown together every game. Some great games from Thomas Kurowksi have labelled him as one of the best perimeter scorers in NBL1 Central whilst Inady Legiste has come into his own as a big inside presence for the Flames, especially on the defensive end. The team will be put to the test against a strong Forestville unit.
The Eagles have had a great defensive season limiting teams with their size and physicality. Their defence feeds their offence with quick guards who like to play in transition and semi-trans. When the game slows down they have 2 talented interior scorers with Daniel Johnson and Greg Mays being able to work out of the pick-and-roll or low post touches. The Flames will have their hands full trying to limit both transition and paint-scoring.
Be sure to head to the State Basketball Centre (Wayville) to cheer on your Flames and get us 2 big road wins!
