New Coaching Director and Coaching Panel
We are pleased to announce Willie Jennette as our new Junior Coaching Director. Willie is a former NBL and ABA ALL-STAR player and a Woollacott Medalist (1990). He has coached at a variety of clubs at Junior level, and was a State coach in 2011, an assistant in 2012, and was awarded the ABA (Senior Women) Coach of the Year award in 2010. We have taken the liberty of including a few photos of Willie playing against Adelaide, and the Melbourne Tigers. Welcome Willie!
Willie is joined by Brenton Johnston and Darren Golley, who are Assistant Director- Girls (Brenton), and Assistant Director –Boys (Darren). Brenton and Darren are Norwood and State level coaches, and they will assist Willie with the delivery of our program to our District teams.
We are also pleased to announce that Neil Gliddon is also assisting the club. Neil has recently retired as the Elite Program manager for Basketball SA, running the State and the SASI/NITP programs for many years, and has previously served as Coaching Director at Sturt, and a little known fact is that he has also been a Norwood coach in the past. Neil is assessing and reporting on our program in its entirety, as well as providing practical recommendations and assistance to Willie, Brenton and Darren. Neil will also help drive the implementation of skills camps/clinics (for both our District and our Norwood League players) and individual training programs.
