Norwood Flames are inviting you to trial for the 2024/25 district season.

The cost for trialing for Norwood Flames juniors will be $75. This cost will include one session of athletic and basketball skills testing and 2 x 1.5 hour skills sessions run by current Norwood Flames district coaches and NBL1 players.
The U12s will go through a movement competency test and U14/U16/U18 will complete athlete testing. This initiative, in conjunction with Flinders University College of Nursing and Health Sciences, will be completed for both external and internal trials.
The athletic and basketball skills testing will be held over Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of July while the on court sessions will be on the 29th June and 6th of July at Marden Basketball Stadium, Turramurra or The Arc. Times will be confirmed via email by Friday 20th June.
Registrations will close Monday 13th June. No late registrations will be accepted.
The following age groups will be open to trial, subject to a cap on total numbers for each session:
- U12s (2016, 2015)
- U14s (2014, 2013)
- U16s (2012, 2011)
- U18s (2010, 2009)
After the trial a selection of players will be invited to attend the Norwood internal trials via email by 28th of July. This is not an offer of position in a Norwood team. Offers for Norwood team placements will be made after the internal trial process, and before the 28th of September.
We will be hosting a separate Youth League and Seniors trial on the Sunday 18th August. More information can be found here.

We will be hosting a separate boys and girls U10 Come and Try on Saturday 13th July. This come and try is free.
This session will include a movement competency test and online court session. From this session will be inviting players to a skills academy held during August. This is not an offer of position in a Norwood team. Offers for Norwood squad positions will be made after the skills academy.
For last year’s trials 27% of external trial participants were invited to internal trials.

What to Bring: Labelled basketball and water bottle
** Please arrive approximately 30 mins prior to your scheduled start time to sign in at the registration desk, located at the courts. Don’t forget your ball and water.
